Course introduction
The use of lasers in dentistry has now become a part of everyday clinical practice. The rapid development of technology has led to instruments with ever-improving performance teamed with traditional methods, such as laser-based instruments offer value-added benefits to primary dental treatment. Any advanced technological aids, i.e. operating microscope, piezoelectric devices and lasers require adequate know-how with a progressive learning curve.

- The syllabus will enhance knowledge and understanding of laser physics and laser-tissue interaction.
- Additional core areas shall explore the phenomena of ablative and non-ablative uses and the application of laser photonic energy.
- With such basics, the wider applications of laser use in dentistry shall be considered.

Through lessons, this course aims to help the student acquire specific proficiency and clinical experience in laser wavelengths principally used in dentistry.

Part 2 - 3 consecutive days in the 2nd week of December, 9.00 am – 4.00 pm each day
During offline sessions;
• Participants will get an opportunity to explore all the types of lasers at KP institute
• Participants will have exclusive hands-on in sheep jaw, meat, and vegetables, simulating different clinical procedures using different lasers
• Participants can assist KP institute's principal faculty Dr Premila Suganthan during clinical hours and observe during their period of stay
• Each participant will be given an opportunity to perform a minimum of 3 procedures on patients under the guidance of KP institute mentors
